This is the way Xiaomi plans to protect users from malware

New Delhi: Xiaomi is reported to be working on new features that will protect its users from Accidental APK installations and malware.
Sideloading Apps has become one of the most desirable features and distinguishes from the Android operating system.
This feature allows users to install applications from the company’s official App Store.
However, download and install the Sideloaded application put the user with the risk of installing malware on their Android phone.
To avoid this situation, Xiaomi reportedly working on new features for MUI called ‘pure mode’.
According to a report by Ithome, Xiaomi is currently recruiting internal beta testers for MIUI’s pure mode.
According to the report, this upcoming feature will allow users to block sideloading Android applications on their Xiaomi phones.
After the feature is activated, the user will not be able to install APK from an unofficial source and application repository.
Users will also be allowed to deactivate pure mode whenever they want.
In the introduction of pure beta mode, Xiaomi stated that 40% of the APK downloaded on Xiaomi phones did not pass security audits and 10% were recognized as risky applications.
The main objective of this new mode is to prevent the risk caused by accidental APK downloads, background installations and misstatements.
This feature will also offer more control users of the application they want to install on their smartphones.
The company has not been revealed when this new feature will be available for users.
This report shows that this feature is currently in beta and is limited to China.
Recently, Xiaomi launched the latest Redmi brand smartphone and true wireless Earbuds in India.
Redmi 10 Prime is present in two variants – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB at a price of 12,499 and Rs 14,499.
This is the first smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 processor.
Smartphone runs the Android 11 operating system and is equipped with a 50MP quad-rear camera setting.
On the other hand, Redmi Earbuds 3 Pro is present in the choice of blue, white and pink and priced at Rs 2,999.
Earbud comes with smart wear detection for autoplay and pause.
The Earbud comes with the IPX4 rank which makes the device waterproof and promises to offer 7 hours of battery backup with one charging.
