Apple has added a 12-inch MacBook that was first released by the company in 2015 to the Vintage product list.
Apple Vintage products mean that the company has “stopped distributing it for more than 5 and less than 7 years ago.” Apple continues to provide software support and hardware for products defined as Vintage.
“Owners of iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, or Apple TVs can get services and spare parts from Apple service providers, including Apple retail stores and independent repair providers, for a minimum of 5 years since when Apple distributes products for sale,” read the support page Apple.
Regardless of vintage products, there is something called outdated products too.
Outdated products, on the other hand, are those who were stopped more than 7 years ago.
The big difference is that Vintage products get hardware services from Apple while obsolete products do not get support at all.
Apple routinely updates this list and you can check the same support website on Apple.
Apple launched a 12-inch Macbook in March 2015.
It is considered the thinnest MacBook and is the first to come with a USB Type-C port along with the butter keyboard.
The MacBook 12-inch 2015 offers a retinal display with a resolution of 2304×1440 pixels and weighs only 910 grams and 13.1 mm thin at the thickest point.
It comes with a larger trackpad and offers two levels of clicking.
The first level is a normal click (you can also turn on the beat instead of clicking through the settings) while the second click is deeper, similar to the Apple Force Watch Touch, allowing users to perform additional tasks such as viewing files in preview mode.
