When Samsung expanded the newest smartphone portfolio folded in August this year, Oneplus shared the teaser from the ‘fold’ device itself.
Even though the teaser left a lot of things to answer, a new patent submitted by Oneplus revealed what the company could do in a folded room.
According to a report in Letsgodigital, the company has submitted a patent for tri-fold smartphones in China.
Patent documents are a mobile caption terminal and this shows a smartphone with three parts of the folding display.
The document also revealed that it was found by Gao.
According to the patent, the display on a smartphone will be supported by a double hinge that will allow the devices folded in various ways.
Until now, Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei are front runners in folding display technology, but this design patent by Oneplus is not as seen on the market.
Reports showed that patent documents for foldable smartphones were filed in China by 2020 and published in July 2021.
Design has also been included in the world database of the world intellectual work office (WIPO).
WIPO has also given approval stamp and protection against Oneplus for patented technology.
Even though the company has not revealed any information about smartphones, Letsgodigital shows that we might be able to see the device with three views of the display in 2022.
Apple also recently submitted a patent for six display areas with six.
Oppo is also reported to be prepared to launch a smartphone that can be folded with the “Peacock” code.
According to the report, the folded cellphone will display a folding design in such a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Huawei Mate X2.
Reportedly equipped with a Samsung LPO 8-inch OLED panel which offers 120W refresh speed.
The smartphone is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset
