But he has now decided to become a Covid soldier and serve those in need in the middle of a pandemic.
“After quitting my work in 2012, I went to Mathura because I really didn’t understand how to deal with my life as a transgender.

He then decided to give a new direction for his life and become a Covid soldier.
“I took this course offered by Deepak Foundation to study patient care skills and Covid case management.
I will soon join an institution that will help me serve covid patients,” Behera said to Ti.
Like him, eight other transgender people also pursued a home health aide course offered by Deepak Foundation since the last five years.
But this year they have decided the first time to integrate transgender people with other students.
“Our goal is to bring the transgender community to the mainstream and offer them livelihoods too.” This course includes identification of Covid signs and symptoms, use of antigen testing kits, pulse oximers and orientation to Covid-19 management.
