Dehradun: In a big setback for those who aspire to become teachers in government schools, the Uttarakhand Education Department does not consider more than seven years of certificates as legitimate.
This is contrary to the previous order that makes the TEP certificate (teacher feasibility test) valid for a lifetime.
The decision taken in June 2021 was a big help for students because they did not need to appear for tests after every 7 years to get tet they were updated.
However, this time, the state government only considered candidates, which had a certificate of TET which was no more than 7 years, for 2,287 empty teaching posts in the state.
