Gurgaon: Twenty-seven-year-old Chaudhary Pradeep fell asleep when the three-story building in Khawaspur Pataudi Village came crashing on Sunday night.
“The whole structure trembled and I thought it was an earthquake,” said the young man who was stuck under debris for more than three hours before he was pulled out.
Three people were killed in an incident that occurred around 18:45 a.m.
on Sunday.
Recovering in an emergency ward in sector 10 civil hospitals, he told TII that he had lived in the other eight buildings since December 2020.
He worked as a warehouse supervisor located in the same complex.
“I wanted to get out as soon as I wake up.
But I can’t.
My right foot is sick and so my head.
I heard people scream from the outside and I couldn’t understand what had happened.
I’m not sure if I will survive.
I just Stayed at my place and shouted to help.

The doctor said Pradeep had a compound fracture on his right foot and needed an operation.

Pradeep said though the building was in poor condition, people kept staying there because most of them were unable to buy better accommodations.
“I get around Rs 15,000 a month and I usually send 90% of that amount at home.
Like me, most people spend a little for food and accommodation here,” he said, adding that he had not contacted his family.
“I don’t have my cellphone now.
So they can’t contact me.
I plan to talk to them after my operation.” Pradeep had been asked to take a total break for at least a month but he was worried about his family.
“I can’t walk.
The doctors here have convinced me that I don’t need to pay for anything.
But I am the only member of my family income.
I don’t know how they will manage at home,” he said, adding that he continued Think about all three young men who can’t make it.
