Thousands of farmers achieve Muzaffarnagar for Mega Rally

Muzaffarnagar: Farmers in all types of vehicles – from several districts and from other states – began to reach Muzaffarmagar earlier this week for Mahapanchayat Kisan which will be held on Sundays.
On Saturday, more than 10,000 farmers from the Agra region managed to avoid local police and travel through different routes – especially smaller village roads – to reach Muzaffarnagar at night.
Police and local intelligence officers have pressured them not to go for the event, they accused.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha has, meanwhile, arranged more than 200 buses to ferry agricultural association workers from Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to Muzaffardagar.
Senior member of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) claimed 50,000 farmers left for the city venue from Rajasthan and Haryana on Saturday afternoon.
BKU (Charuni) Haryana Chief Gurnam Singh Charuni on Saturday claimed about 1 lakh farmers from the country would attend Mahapachayat, which he said right to reply to Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar who protested the farmers.
The five main Gurdwaras Muzaffarnagar has opened their doors for farmers and started offering their services with Langar facilities on Friday.
Meanwhile, six companies from Constabulary Province (PAC) and two RAF companies in addition to police forces from various districts have been deployed here for the event.
