Lahore: Thousands of supporters of the radical Islamic party which were banned on Saturday left East Pakistani City Lahore, collided for the second day in a row with the police who had a tear gas to the crowd, said a spokesman for a party and witness.
The group began their journey Friday with the aim of reaching the capital of Islamabad to suppress the government to release Saad Rizvi, Head of the Pakistani Tehreek-e-Labiak Party.
Rizvi was arrested last year amid a demonstration against France for the caricature publication of the Prophet Muhammad.
The clash of violence erupted between security forces and Islamist in Lahore left at least two police officers and two demonstrators off Friday.
Sajid Saifi, spokesman for Rizvi Party, said supporters spent the night near the River Ravi Bridge and in the morning starting to Islamabad in the midst of heavy tear gas.
Saifi said the big crowd removed the barricade and came out of the city limits but once again faced security forces near the city when Shah Kako.
Saifi said “many” party supporters were injured by Cannister tear gas when they tried to leave Lahore.
Eyewitnesses said the rallygoers were walking distance but some vehicles moved with them to take the injured to the hospital and bring food and water.
The Rizvi party gained excellence in the 2018 Pakistani election, campaigning in one problem: defending the law of blasphemy of the country, which called for a death sentence for anyone who insulted Islam.
It has a history of performance of violent protests to suppress the government to receive its demands.
