Three alleged cold wave deaths on the city road

Nagpur: City police have reported two senior citizen deaths, found without a warm cover, on the streets of the city on Monday.
The police said there was a different possibility of the two deaths because of the intense cold waves experienced over the past two days.
In one case, an unknown man in his 60s was found not to move on the path in Jagnath Budhwari on Monday, when the city had a cold wave with a dipping temperature to 7.6 degrees Celsius.
He was then declared dead at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH).
According to the police, the man was starving and weak.
He did not have a blanket or close nearby.
“The man seems to have died of starvation and comes out in cold weather, because he doesn’t have a blanket or warm cover on the road,” police said.
The body was sent for Post-Mortem by the Tehsil Police and an accidental case of death registered by his body was also sent for Post-Mortem at IGGMCH by police Ganeshpeth, who had registered an accidental case of death.
The police said they could not rule out Sawale’s death due to cold waves.
Other elderly women have been found in subconscious conditions near Gandhi Chowk in aware on December 14.
The police consciously shifted him to IgGmch, where he was declared dead on Monday.
The police said he was also weak and did not have a warm cover of him.
Cases of accidental death were registered at the conscious police station.
