Patna: Overall, three teenagers were feared immersed in the swollen Ganges in the Card of Ghat under the Area of the Chowk Police Station in Patna City while clicking while bathing in the river on Sunday night.
Rishu Kumar, Rahul Kumar and Ganesh Kumar, all aged between 11 and 15 years, are genuine residents of Bay Pokhar under the Khajekala police station in Patna City, ASP said Amit Sharan.
“They were feared sinking.
They along with a few more friends have reached Ghat to take a shower and click on photos when the trio might slip and lose control because of a strong current on the river and sucked down,” he said.
Amit says the state disaster response diver (SDRF) with the boat is deployed, but the body cannot be provoked until the sunset.
“The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m.
the search operation will continue Monday morning.
It will be extended to several kilometers downstream because of the current river situation,” he said.
The locals told the police that the young men were seen bathing in the river and one of their friends clicked on the photos of the Ghat stairs.
The police found teenage clothes and sandals which sank they save on the stairs before going to the river.
