Mumbai: Three Delta-Plus variant sub-genens from the SARS-COV-2 virus are currently being circulating in the state, which, said experts, called for more epidemiological analysis to understand the impact on the ongoing virus transmission.
The recent Genome sequencing report shows the existence of 66 Delta-Plus cases in the state, which includes sub-lineage ay.1, AY.2 and AY.3.
The Delta variant that greatly transfers mutates into delta-pluses, is formed because Delta obtains an additional mutation called K417N in Spike protein, which increases the attachment of the virus to infected cells.
Now, scientists have found 13 sub-lines of delta-plus starting from AY.1, AY.2, AY.3 along the way until 13.
In Maharashtra, the first three sub-linings have been found so far.
Preliminary data has found Delta-Plus resistance to monoclonal antibody cocktail care.
There is little evidence until now to show it as transmitted by Delta, which continues to be the dominant variant.

AY.1 case has been found in sequential samples since April, while AY.2 has been found since March and AY.3 since June.
Among the three, the AY.3 researchers grew rapidly in several US states.
AY.3 has a non-surge protein mutation and not much is known about it.
Eight cases of this lineage were picked up in June and 12 in July.
In Mumbai, 11 cases, including the death of a 63-year-old child, has been reported.

Commissioner Municipal Addl Suresh Kakani said that only one spread was like a cluster taken from the Delta-Plus case.
As for 31 AY.1 cases in the state, ten were found in April, six in May and June, and nine in July.
AY.2, which was first detected in March, was later found in seven cases in May and two in June.
A expert from the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology is a sequencing sample of Maharashtra and said the nomenclature of delta-plus evolved.

Overall, Delta has been found in 68% of state samples sorted.

Pradeep kicked, the state supervision officer, said Delta-Plus did not seem to cause severe disease in patients.
“Delta is still our main concern.
The Delta-Plus case accounts for less than 1% of sequential samples,” he said.
