Coimbatore: Three people, including partners, killed in place when their fast car traveled with a truck with a truck on the main road Bhavani-Mettur in Kadappanallur Pirivu on Thursday night.
The police said the front of the car was destroyed because it was under the cabin of the truck driver.
Airbag was deployed.
However, three occupants in the car die.
The deceased has been identified as M Devanathan, 53, from Udayanur near the Mecheri in the Salem district, his wife Dr.
Indirani, 51, and R Sathyaselan, 24, from Kullalar Street in Mecheri.
Police said Devanathan worked as a manager at a private company in Odalur in Salem and Indirani Regency worked as a senior surgeon assistant at the primary health center in Vanavasi.
Sathyaselan works in a private company.
Devanathan gets care for kidney problems at a private hospital in Coimbatore City.
On Thursday morning, Devanathan asked the relative Sathyaselan to accompany him to Coimbatore.
Devanathan, his wife Indirani and Sathyaselan went to Coimbatore City from Udayanur.

The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m.
when they returned to the Salem district.
Another driver warned Bhavani police who rushed to the place.
Traffic is affected for more than two hours on a busy national highway.
The police managed to take the bodies of the car destroyed.
The body was sent to Bhavani Government Hospital for Postmortem.
After postmortem, the bodies were handed over to family members from the deceased on Friday afternoon.
The police registered a case against the truck driver under Section 279 and 304 (a) from the Indian Criminal Code.
The truck driver escaped.
