BENGALURU: Three dailywage employees who entered a manhole at Ramanagara, roughly 50km in Bengaluru, suffocated to death Friday.
The tragedy happened when the employees entered the 20-foot-deep manhole at New Malleshwara block, Ijur.
The city municipality had shot up the job of placing the lineup under a particular scheme of this gover nment.
Manjunath, 29, Rajesh, 40 and Manjunath, 32 — most inhabitants of Kamalanagar at Basaveshwaranagar, Bengaluru — have been attracted to the site by builder Harish Kumar approximately 8am.
“No security equipment was supplied to the employees.
Harish was so blessed that he delegated the duties to his helper and abandoned.
Typically, a lamp is put in the base of the manhole to determine the oxygen amount.
That process wasn’t followed ,” police said.
“Prior to the crisis and fire officials may arrive at the area, they expired,” authorities said.
Depending on the complaint filed by relatives of the dead person, Ramanagara authorities detained contractor Harish Kumar along with his partner Manoj.
