Three families died after the house collapsed

Bageshwar: A man, his wife and seven-year-old son died after their house collapsed because of landslides, triggered by heavy rainfall, in the Kapkot Tehshwar district.
Son who is older than a couple – 10 years old – somehow saved his life by escaping from home.
He has suffered a minor injury.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m.
on Sunday when the victims were sleeping.
Local administration was told about the collapse of the house at 6:15 a.m.
Immediately after, the police and officials from local administration reached the place and launched search and rescue operations.
The victims were identified as Govind Singh Panda (40), his wife Khashti Devi (35), and their son Himanshu (7).
Shikha Suyal, District Disaster Management, Bageshwar, told Ti that the three bodies were found at 12 noon.
“A cow tied with urine behind the house also died in the incident.
Two other cows in Cowshed were saved by us,” Suyal said.
The official added that the movement of the vehicle on several roads in the kapkot was suspended due to rain damage.
According to data from the Meteorology Center, the Kapkot recorded a maximum of 45 mm rainfall in the district on Sunday, followed by 15 mm rainfall in the cities of Bageshwar and Garud.
