Thiruvananthapuram: The city police on Friday arrested three people on charges of robbing a man after luring him into the trap by pretending to be a woman on social media.
The police identified the defendant as Dileep, 30, from Valiyavila near Thirumala, Wisnu aka Angry Wisnu, 31, Kunathara and Ajeesh aka Kannan, 22, Kaladi.
Their arrest was recorded at the Fort Police Station.
The complainant in this case is a man who lives in Nedumangad.
According to the police, the defendant posed as a woman on social media by creating a fake account and charming a complainant.
They called him to the workplace of the temple from where they kidnapped him and took him to a remote place near the Homeo college in Iranimuttom.
Here, the defendant beat him and robbed his belongings, including money, gold ornaments and the vehicle registration certificate.
Police previously caught another sachin accused of this case.
Three men whose arrests were recorded on Friday were arrested from their hiding place in Ramankari in Alappuzha by a team led by Fort Station Inspector J Rakesh and Sub Inspectors Sauju Abraham and Dinesh.
The three men were then produced in front of the court.
