Tighty: Three young men were killed and others were injured critically in an accident involving two bicycles close to the Border among Tamil Nadu and Kerala near Puliyarian on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as K Sathamivam (19) from Puliyarai, M Suresh Kumar (24) Kattalaikudiruppu near Puliyarai, and E Nagalingam (19) from Mela Kadayanallur.
Sathasivam and Suresh Kumar are on a bicycle while Nagalingam and K Karthik (26) from Mela Kadayanilur are on another bicycle.
The bike that drove from the opposite direction had a head collision in Kattalaikudiruppu, leaving three dead people in place.
The body was taken to the Sengottai government hospital for autopsy.
Karthik rushed to the Tenkasi Government Hospital for first aid and was referred to the Tirunelveli medical college hospital for tertiary care.
Police Puliyarai, who registered a case, said that no one was wearing a helmet.
Going with the nature of the injury that snatched their lives, the police said that the helmet could save them all.
