Bhubaneswar: Three Maoists, who were involved in some violence related to Naxal in Odisha, surrendered before the Director General of Abhay police at the camp office in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
They were identified as Lakma Madvi, Ganga Madkam and like Sodi, all the residents of Chhattisgarh.
While Madvi and Madkam are members of the Area Committee (ACM), Sodi is a member of the CPI Party (Maois).
The cadres submitted belonged to the Kodanga-Mahanadi-Sanjukta Area Committee operating under the Division of the Kandhamal Boudh Nayagarh Division (KKBN) of the Odisha CPI Committee (Maois).
“Three cadres were specifically deployed by Maoist’s clothing to generate the Mahanadi Regional Committee and to activate the North Kandhamal and a side by side, which was in the stage of Moribund since 2018 after the meeting of Maoist Badal leader aka Shankar Majhi and surrendered Kunu Dehury,” Abhay said .
The police said the three of them surrendered after the application that often occurred by the Head of Minister of Naveen Patnaik to Maois to avoid the path of violence and join the mainstream.
In addition, the three Maoists are under strong pressure due to intensive anti-Maoist surgery by security forces and intelligence-based operations.
They were also impressed with the policy of submission and rehabilitation of the state government.
“The third submission of Naxals will give a serious blow to Maois’s evil design in North Kandhamal and a side by side.
Their plan to revive the North Mahanadi corridor until the Jharkhand Saranda will fall flat,” Abhay said.
At least five Maoists have given up in Odisha in the past two weeks.
On August 8, a Maoist woman Division KKBN had surrendered before the police in the Kandhamal district.
The other Maoist leader came out of Maoist’s clothes and gave up before the police in Balalangir in August.
Overall 15 Maoists, including some top cadres have surrendered, 25 others have been arrested and three Naxal shot shot by security personnel in Odisha between January and August this year.
