Dharmapuri: A truck mowed three guys on bikes around the Thoppur Ghat Road here on Thursday.The dead are named as N Eswaran, 38, R Swaminathan, 33 and U Selvaraj, 37, by Eruppali village at Edappadi of Salem district.
“Seven guys in Eruppali and Jalakandapuram at Salem had seen a Tasmac store in Thoppur on four bicycles.
After a couple of drinks, they purchased some spirits from the store and began the return travel.
While passing through the Thoppur Ghat Road, a truck coming in the opposite course rammed two bicycles.
Eswaran, Swaminathan and Selvaraj succumbed to injuries on the area.
Pillion Attorney S Raju, 40, sustained injuries,” said an officer by the Thoppur authorities station.Truck motorist P Eswaran of Usilampatty at Madurai district and also co-driver Jagadeeswaran, 38, of Theni district sustained injuries.
Thoppur authorities have registered a case.
