Coimbatore: Three men were killed in an accident involving MOPED and motorbikes at Ketkukkamtupudur Flyover near Perumanallur in Tirupur District Monday night.
The deceased was identified as R Gopikannan, 38, from Nagar Kadandai in South Kadayampatti in Salem, V Tamilselvan, 22, and his friend S Bhoominathan, 20, both of Kaliyapuram near the Tirupur district.
Tamillelvan and Bhoominathan work in garment factories.
The police said the gopyan was on his way to Coimbatore from Salem in Moped.
When he reached Firkyover karkkattupudur, Gopikannan was thrown from moped after he lost control of it and hit the median.
He suffered a severe head injury and died in place.
Meanwhile, Tamilselvan and Bhoominathan riding a motorcycle crashed into a gopikannan moped lying on the road.
Tamillelvan and Boominathan were thrown from motorbikes.
They suffered a severe head injury and died in place.
Police Inspector Perumanalur Mahalingam and the team rushed to the place and sent three bodies to Tirupur Government Medical College and the hospital for postmortem early Tuesday morning.
The police have registered the case.
