Thane: As many as 30% of the total active case of Thane City or three of each Covid patient gets treatment at facilities outside the city or district, revealing government data.
In accordance with statistics recently, 278 of 973 active cases from the city of Thane until Sunday have been treated outside the city or district limits.
Meanwhile, around 14% of patients were active in Kalyan-Dompivli looking for treatment outside the city while Navi Mumbai had a volume that could be ignored .3% of cases were taken.
In Bhiwandi Nizampam also, even with only 22 cases, almost 27% of patients were accepted outside the city limits.
The numbers have raised a lot of eyebrows, and activists now question the corporations and politicians about why health facilities in satellite cities are unable to handle Covid patients even 15 months after the emergence of pandemics.
Some say it is a wake-up call for administration to focus on improving health infrastructure in the city and not just roads.
But the administration has stated that they offer the best care, and easy access to private facilities in Mumbai or adjacent Navi can be the reason why the population crosses.
Residents, however, have referred to poor care quality at private facilities in the city as one of the main reasons to choose out.
“My family is not sure about the quality of care at Private Thane Hospital and therefore makes me admit from the city,” Thane residents said.
“Residents chose other cities last year or even last month it was understandable because of the demand for the bed more than availability.
But we must have good infrastructure for citizens who pay taxes.
We not only have new facilities for residents, which exists too Not maintained, “BJP City President who complained and MLC Niranjan Davkhare.
Deputy Commissioner of the City of Sandeep Malvi, on the other hand, denied the possibility of Thane patients who came out for treatment.
“We have patients who come from neighboring cities because we have a good quality civil and private hospital, so there is a minimum chance of patients who choose other cities,” Malvi said.
