Patna: Three family members, including minors, died after running the truck speeding over them near Goriakothi Bazar in Siwan District on Saturday night.
The victims – Bhagwati Devi (66), his younger son Harishankar Singh (26) and his grandson Priyanshu Kumar (2) – was a resident of Harpur Village under the Goriakothi police station in the district.
Sho from the Goriakothi Police Station Mukesh Kumar said three were on a bicycle.
“Priyanshu was taken to the doctor.
The three people returned home after buying Rakhis from the local market when the truck hit their bicycle from behind, killing them in place, “he said, adding a truck driver to escape leaving the vehicle.
“The truck returned from the Food Corporation State (SFC) warehouse in Siwan after a bag of rice unloading,” Sho said.
He added police trying to identify truck drivers with the help of SFC officials.
Goriakothi officer Circle Arun Kumar Saroj said the next of the victim’s relatives would get compensation from RS 4 Lakh respectively.
