Guwahati: Three suspected Dacoits were shot dead by police because they had tried to rob a bank in Kokrajhar Assam Regency which was lower at Wee hours on Sunday, police said, reported the watershed.
The incident occurred around 2.30 in the morning when the police intercepted automatic rickshaw and motorbikes in Bhotgaon, 6 km south of Kokrajhar City.
DGP LR Special LR Bishno said the police had input that the gang of six hotels planned to rob a bank in Bhotgaon.
“According to our information, the branch has cash 30 lakh cash.
Thus, nakas was established in four different locations,” the officer said.
Dacoits violated the police signal in Naka and tried to escape.
“They opened fire at a police party.
In retaliation, three of them suffered bullets and three others managed to escape.
Injuries in a hurry to the hospital where they surrendered to injury,” he said.
The defendant has been identified as Siraj Doulas Sheikh (26) from the South Salma Mankachar district, Aminul Sheikh (28) from the destination district and Manirul Hussain (27) from the destination.
Police confiscated two 7.65mm pistols, magazines, eight rounds of almunition, one oxygen cylinder 25 liters, one domestic LPG cylinder, three cellphones from the incident point.
