Mathura: A 64-year-old man here has been allegedly chained repeatedly by his three sons, demanding the Division of Land Six-Bigha among them, said an official on Tuesday.
Rama’s Social Welfare Officer Rama Shankar Gupta said Saval Singh, a retired driver of UPSRTC, has been repeatedly taken marched for eight to 10 days by his son to force him to act as they wish.
The victim’s wife currently lives with her parents because she also receives inhuman care, added Gupta.
However, officials at the Jamuna Paar police station said they had not received complaints in this matter.
Sihora Village Chief Surendra Singh said the parents were saved by police three to four times in the past two months.
He was saved recently on Saturday, he added.
Confirming that the old man was saved on Saturday, Shashi Prakash Sharma Inspector said his sons were scolded and the father was released.
“The three sons, the driver with the profession, pressured their father to divide around six bghas owned by their father,” said the village head.
To force their father to divide property, they often chain him, said the village head, adding that his son Ashok, Rajan and Uncle were drunks, who chained him after consuming liquor.
