Srinagar: Three unknown terrorists were killed in a meeting with security forces in the Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.
Security forces launched Cordon operations and searches in Pethseer in the Sopore area on Monday night after information about militant existence there, said a police officer.
He said search operations turned into a meeting early on Tuesday when terrorists opened fire in the position of security forces.
Three terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire with security forces, the official said, added that their group’s identity and affiliation were confirmed.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar said the total number of terrorists who were killed this year in Kashmir had crossed 100.
