Chennai: Madipakkam police on Sunday caught the gang of three members who target women to walk alone on the road and seize their telephone, jewelry.
With the help of several hours of CCTV camera recording, the police arrested V Rajesh, 23, S Prasanankaran, 26, and D Leonard James, 28, residents of Zamin Pallavaram, Urapakkam and Chrome.
They were arrested based on complaints submitted by K Geetha, 58, from Madipakkam, who were robbed from the Seven Sovereign Chain on August 19 when he was at Run Grocery.
The trio comes with a bicycle and seizes the chain.
The police restored the Geetha chain from the three.
Investigations reveal that Rajesh has more than 10 cases delayed by it.
Based on their confession, the police said three stole two-wheeled vehicles, continued shooting and ignoring the bicycle later.
They are targeting elderly women walking alone in Pallikarani, Pallavaram, Selaiyur and Sankar Nagar.
They are returned in court custody on Sundays.
