Patna: Three young men were arrested for allegedly opening fire outside the house of a builder, Rakesh Kumar Singh, in Anandpuri under the Puri police station in the state capital on September 16.
Five empty cartridges were restored from their residence.
City SP (center) Ambrish Rahul on Wednesday said the young men who were arrested were identified as Prince Pandey (19), Raushan Kumar Pandey (19) and Atul Kumar Singh (18).
He said Prince was arrested from Flat Number 501 from Vaishnavi Plaza in S K Puri, Roushan from Motihari and Atul from West Boring Canal Road Area.
Pastor Prince Manoj Pandey was a police officer posted in another district.
“The three are class XII students.
They want to make money quickly by committing a crime.
Atul’s father has a general store,” he said.
Rahul said the builder had a land dispute with one Amit Yadav, who had hatched a conspiracy to threaten Singh.
“Amit has promised to pay RS1.5 Lakh to the trio to shoot and misuse the builder.
He has paid RS68,000 to Atul.
Is the prince who was first related to Amit,” SP said.
He said Amit was accused of another shooting case listed at the previous Danapur Police Station.
But there is no evidence that arises against it in that matter.
“The trio captured has even recorded their shooting videos as evidence for Amit.
Videos and cellphones used to record incidents have been confiscated.
Roushan and Atul bikes, used in crime, have also recovered,” SP said.
Rahul said the raid would catch Amit.
