Thiruvananthapuram: Police Nedumangad on Monday arrested three people suspected of stealing 17 grams of gold ornaments from jewelry after visiting a shop that pretends to be a customer.
The police identified the defendant as Mohammed Siraj, 28, came from Beema Palli and is currently in a rented house near Kumarichantha, Mohammed Rashid, 30, from Thatroli near Nedumangad and Mohammed Aneez, 26, from Beema Palli.
Police said that the alleged crime took place on January 13 at around 1:30 a.m.
in Krishnan Achari jewelry which was located near Nedumangad.
In accordance with the complaint submitted by Krishnan Achari, the three were accused of appearing in his shop to pretend to be customers.
They asked for an ear ring with a weight of four grams.
Because it was not available in his shop Krishnan Achari offered to provide it from other stores nearby.
Thus, he left his shop after locking the cash counter.
When he returned, the three men disappeared.
He found that the glass panel ornament counter was removed and some ornaments were also gone.
The police said the defendant cut the panel using a glass cutter and was put to sleep with ornaments they could take before Achari again.
They were identified from the visual camera supervision following being traced and arrested.
The investigation team was led by the inspector of the house officer Nedumangad Station Santhosh Kumar and the Sunil Gopi Sub Inspector.
