MySuru: Krishna from Hosalli Village in Mysuru Taluk took his first Covid-19 shot on Monday, nearly nine months after vaccination drive was launched throughout the country.
Doubt until now, he said he was inspired by road games held to spread awareness about the importance of vaccines.
This drama is organized by the Literature and Rustic Health Program (RLHP), Mysuru-based NGOs.
Krishna is 45 years old, a soft pure coconut by the profession, is the only one in a family that has not taken Jab.
He said he consumed alcohol regularly and was afraid he could develop health problems if he took a vaccine.
However, on Tuesday, he was happy he took the first shot.
Like him, Nagaraj, 38, from Hunaganahalli Village, also did not waste time after watching the playground.
Some of his friends also got a dose.
Nagaraj, a farmer, and his friends Narayan and Kumar are accustomed to drinking regularly and they avoid vaccines like the plague throughout the day.
Ditto for Mahesh from Nanjangud, who did the work of scaffolding to make a living.
While his wife and in-laws had taken JAB last month, Mahesh was nervous, afraid of health complications.
While those who drink regularly fear they will develop health problems if they take vaccines, many now revise their opinions, thanks to the team that goes around spreading awareness in vaccines.
Team 10 Members – Shivaraj, Ningaraju, Nandini, Sonia, Nandini, Ranjitha, Jyothi, Nithhish, Shalini, and Supreeth Godson – have managed to convince many regular drinkers in Mysore and T Narasipura Taluks village to take vaccines.
Supret said playing 20 minutes focused on drinkers and senior citizens who were hesitant.
“We educated them through the game and told them that there was no harm in taking vaccines.
We also begged them to stop consuming liquor for several days for their family members,” Suprete said.
Saraswathi, RLHP Director, said: “We work for the welfare of rural and slums with focus on health and education.
We distribute food kits to families during locking and spreading awareness about Covidals behavior.
Now, through street dramas, we encourage a doubt population To take vaccines.
People, especially those who regularly consume alcohol, in most rural areas have a misunderstanding of Covid-19 vaccines.
We strive to help them overcome their fears.
“Dr.
MS Jayanth, Rch Officer, said:” Department The health of the state does not leave the stone missed to encourage people through the media, NGOs, and by doing special drives.
