Speaking with the media, Sharma, who did not succeed in fighting for the last assembly of the Maant Mathura constituency, said that “BJP is not the first party.

The constituency has been represented sequentially for eight terms by Shyam Sunder Sharma from BSP.
In the 2017 assembly poll, BJP candidate SK Sharma lost to Shyam Sundar Sharma BSP with margins around 6,000 votes.
