Tie-up BPCL with the Nuclear Institute on Net Zero Push

New Delhi: The third largest resiner of India Bharat Petroleum Corp said on Monday it had been tied with the state nuclear research institute for electrolymer technology for green hydrogen for trying to achieve nallular zero emissions in 2040.
India, the third largest gas emitter, aimed at achieving Zero emissions were net in 2070 and wanted to increase renewable energy shares in their energy mixture to 50% by 2030 of the current 38%.
BPCL Chairman Ak Singh said Refiner plans to improve the original alkaline electrolymer technology to be used in refineries through collaboration with the Bhabha Atom Research Center.
Electrolysis divides water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity.
For green hydrogen, renewable energy is used for electrolysis.
Currently Indian companies import electrolymer factories.
