Indian Tier-III cities have witnessed a significant increase in the number of gamers online in 2021, according to Indian cellular gaming reports 2021 (IMMR) by Mobile Premier League (MPL), Esports Platform and Gaming Skill.
Top 30 of them reported to 170% more gamers compared to 2020.
Some small cities have witnessed between 100% to 200% of online gamer growth.
Siwan (Bihar), Baimanagoi (Chattisgarh) and Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan) watched 123%, 179% and 52% growth in the number of gamers.
Small cities such as Alwar (Rajasthan), Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Palanpur (Gujarat) are reported to have experienced a good increase in the number of new gamers.
Incidentally, these countries do not have big cities known as hub gaming.
Carrom, fruit arrows, fruit pieces, Runner No.1 and Puzzle Blocks are some top games played in various Indian cities according to IMGR 2021.
Many research reports show that the increase in availability of affordable smartphones coupled with high-speed internet is asked to play games Crossing small cities.
In fact, a mobile-based platform for playing games has made it easy for many things to access skill-based games and tournaments.
The consulting company mentioned in recent reports that the Indian domestic market for online games is estimated to grow from $ 906 million in 2019 to more than $ 2 billion in 2023 which represents CAGR – almost 22%.
This means that the Indian market is expected to be faster and become a globally meaningful contributor.
The EY report further described that online gamers in India are estimated to grow from 360 million by 2020 to 510 million in 2022.
Of that amount, an estimated 85% is cellular gamers.
