Lucknow: up is home to a large population of tigers.
Three tiger reserves above – Pilibhit, Dudhwa and Amangarh – make the state potential for ecotourism that is growing rapidly.
The protected area in the state also has a population of the vibration of the tiger that crosses from neighboring Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.
“Up has extraordinary potential to attract tourists in tiger reserves in the belt of the therai because it is well connected through the road and the train network.

The 2018 tiger census has projected around 173 tigers above which is an extraordinary increase of around 48% against the national average of 33% of the previous census held in 2014 which counted around 117 tigers above.

The Ministry of Forestry has formed Forest Corporation (UPFC) a nodal body for promotion and ecotourism development in tiger reserves, national parks and wildlife asylum.
“The forest corporation must work in the direction.
There is sufficient infrastructure in the tiger reserves.
What we want to do is bring private entrepreneurs to improve lodging facilities and lodging outside the reserve,” said PCCF (wildlife) and head of wildlife, PK Sharma.
The infrastructure in PTR has been upgraded recently.
The Tourism Department along with UPFC has launched a compact tour package for ecotourism from Lucknow to Dudhwa and Lakhimpur Kheri.
General Manager, UPFC, Eva Sharma said, “This is one of the latest efforts we take to increase ecotourism in the state.
The idea is to provide a troubled trip.” Taxi service was offered by tour operators empaneled.
Letting homestays in Dudhwa, Pilibhit, Katarniaghat and Suhelwa are other initiatives taken by the Government of 2019.
This initiative allows ecotourism to stay with Tharus and locals in their homes after paying charges.
“Dudhwa tiger reserves, Kishanpur, Pilibhit and Konerniaghat are homes for unique species such as horned rhinos, swamp swamps, bear slott, asiatic elephants and about 550 species of birds.
