Nagpur: In the first in the state, Pengh Tiger Reserve (PTR), Maharashtra, is between 14 tiger reserves to receive CA accreditation | TS.
The announcement was carried out on Thursday by the Minister of Environment Union Bhupender Yadav on the occasion of the Global Tiger Day.
Of the 14 tiger reserves, each of Assam and Madhya Pradesh, 2 of Tamil Nadu, and one from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, UP, Bihar and West Bengal.
Tiger Standards Conservation (CA | TS) Certification is a new conservation tool supported by Global Tiger Forum (GTF) to set the minimum standard for the management of effective species of targets for good species conservation outside.
And inside.
With this international recognition, selected reserves can expect to get better funds and support from the center also from players around the world.
This is the first time the site’s assessment is done using CA | TS-log that helps visualize data and site-based tiger-based conservation trects.
India is the first country to launch this nationally.

Pench CCF & Field Director Ravikir Govekar Said Ca | TS is “Globally accepted conservation tools that determine the best practices and standards for managing tigers and encouraging assessments to the progress of benchmarks”.
“The accreditation process is underway over the past six months by independently.
The expert team is led by former PCCF Uttar Pradesh Shailesh Prasad.
There are 17 parameters and we fulfill it to get eligible for accreditation.
Backup has 40 tigers,” said Govekar.
NTCA Secretary of the SP member Yadav said unlike Effective Evaluation Management (MEE) Tiger Reserve, CA | TS sets minimum standards for effective target species management and to encourage the assessment of these standards in relevant conservation in protected areas (PA) and non -PAS.
In 2017, Yadav, who later became an additional GTF Secretary General, has identified Bramhapuri and Central Chanda, the worst affected by human conflict, for CA accreditation | TS.
“Habitat that supports the tiger population is a tiger conservation building block.
And effectively managing them is very important for the long-term survival of wild tigers,” added Yadav.ca | TS is being held in 125 sites in seven countries bearing tigers and India has the biggest number with 94 sites.
Assessment is complete for 20 tiger reserves this year.
These sites undergo the CA process | TS is prescribed from site registration through external evaluation (including evidence of verification of evidence) on accreditation.
It was facilitated by GTF & WWF India, which is the two NTCA implementing partners for assessment CA | TS in India.
Rajesh Gopal, Secretary General, GTF, congratulated 14 tiger reserves and said, “Ca | TS accreditation is a global recognition of good tiger governance.
This recognition is very meaningful in the context of adaptation to climate change, the sustainability of ecosystem services, and maintaining interference zoonosis cycle, through an umbrella species approach.
“Ravi Singh, Secretary General & CEO, WWF India, said,” CA accreditation | TS to 14 Tiger reserves indicate that this reserve has achieved the advantage in the management of tiger sites.
This accreditation will strengthen management practices at Site according to international general criteria.
WWF India will continue to support the assessment process CA | TS for tiger conservation landscapes.
