New Delhi: Expanding its electric vehicle portfolio, Tata Motors aims to target a series of different customers, said a top company official.
Tata Motors on Wednesday launched Tigor EV All-New for personal mobility.
Prices and reach will be disclosed at the August 31 launch.
Reservations have begun.
Tata Motors’ Nexon EV has become a successful escape in private space, sweeping the highest sales figure so far.
NEXON EV, which is powered by a 30.2 KWH battery pack has a range of 312 kilometers claims for one charging.
Tigor EV, powered by Ziptron too, got a smaller 26 kWh battery package.
Tigor EV, however, is expected to offer a similar range and will come at a slightly lower price point.
“Tigor EV will be at a different price point of NEXON EV.
Tigor EV gives us the benefits of a slightly lighter car.
So we will be able to offer a type and performance similar to a smaller battery pack, which translates into a lower cost , “said Vivek Srivatsa, a marketing business unit, passenger and electric vehicle, Tata Motors.
Srivatsa added, “Tigor EV will open up a new market opportunity for us.” NEXON EV is currently priced at RS 13.99 Lakh-16.85 Lakh (Former Showroom).
Tigor EV will also be the first EV in the body shape of the sedan in the passenger car segment.
Tata Motors believes that the SUV dominates the sales of the sedan will have an impact on the wealth of Tigor EV.
“We don’t believe Tigor EV will hold back because it is a sedan.
The benefits of electric cars beyond all kinds of fear about the type of body sedan,” Srivatsa added.
“If you see Nexon eV, it’s too much on the drive and the SUV feature.
It handles a bad road comfortably,” Srivatsa said, adding Tigor EV would focus on the convenience of drives and passengers, and a retuned suspension for a finer trip.
Tata Motors will continue to sell EVS and internal combustion cars through the same dealer network.
Srivatsa said, “Every customer internal combustion machine must also see EVs.
Dealers must be the same and employees will be trained to serve the needs of ES and EV customers simultaneously.
EVS will be part of the entire passenger vehicle industry in this country.” Commenting on the center and several governments The state offering subsidies, Srivatsa said, “Subsidies are welcome.
