New Delhi: As a recommendation to improve TIHAR prison management and increase its security provisions to examine criminals operating from being non-starter for the past four months and entangled in the jurisdiction between the center, Police Delhi and Delhi regardless of the order, the Supreme Court on the day Thursday asked them to sit with Andimplement than money.
The recommendation was made by Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana who was directed by the APEX court to conduct an investigation and submit a report on the steps needed to strengthen Tihar Prison security after being suspected that real estate developers Unitech Sanjay and Ajay Chandra were managing their business operations from prison in Convance with prison officials.
He submitted a report in September and suggested the use of ‘dominant towers’ technology to block cellphone signals in the prison complex and installed the X-Ray scanner throughout the body and CCTV cameras.
Receiving the report, the court has been on October 6, asking the UNI Ministry to implement these steps.
Because recommendations only become part of the report and have not been applied on the ground to date, Judge Dy Chandrachud and Shah direct that the meeting of a secretary level officer from the Ministry of Home, Head of Delhi Secretary of the Government and Director General of Tihar Prison held within a week to sort all the problems And future actions will be taken on the basis of the report.
The court leads that asthana must also be indicated for the meeting.
Placing a responsibility to the Delhi government, the center took the attitude that the prison administration was in the list of countries and the Delhi government had jurisdiction over Tihar.
The additional lawyer General Madhavi Divan, appeared for the center, told the bench that the center frame the prison manual model, but for countries to implement it.
However, there was no advisor for the Thedelhi government.
The bench said the necessary improvement measures needed to be taken immediately and the action plan must be compiled.
