Ghaziabad: Rakesh Tikait, which Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) has a leading protest against the new central agricultural law on the border of Delhi at the gate, calling for the CBI probe on Thursday into what the procurement of wheat was alleged in Uttar Pradesh.
Rampur district.
Titika claimed he had a document to prove that the wheat quintal lakh was purchased by an intermediary in the name of a fictitious farmer with a lower level and then sold at the minimum support price (MSP) for profit.
Quoting this, he asked why the government was embarrassed to bring a law that guarantees BKU’s main demand – despite the guarantee of the prime minister that the MSP regime will continue to be separated from the new agricultural law.
“When PM claims MSP will remain, why does the government not come with the law? There is a large-scale corruption involved where the owner of Middlemen and the factory operates such as gang in connection with officials,” said Tikait at the gate.
He added, “The documents in our property showed that in Rampur District alone in 2020-21, from 26,391 farmers, 11,000 were fictitious names.
Of the 14.7 lakh quintal wheat, 10 lakh quintals had been obtained by intermediaries with rates between Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,600 per quintal and sold at Rs 1,975 per quintal.
“Tikait vowed to come with” more evidence “of such fraud in other districts, adding trade unions will increase their agitation this month with national protests against MNC on August 9 and ‘Kisan-Majdoor Azadi Sangram’ on August 15.
Asked about the allegations of Tikait, Rampa District Judge Ravindra Kumar told TII that he had not received complaints about irregularities in procurement.
“I wander to understand that some documents were distributed with the press by BKU and it had alleged that intermediaries who benefited through unfair ways in procurement.
I hope that the documents based on these charges will be available to us.
If found credible, investigations will begin, “Kumar said.
