New Delhi: Highway Construction Agents who carry out sponsored jobs centrally will declare contractors and “non-player” concession holders if they slip in a meeting of construction milestones set in contracts or poor performance, including failure to place people and machines on the site shown.
Road transportation services and highways have issued a list of conditions, including failure to complete repairs and maintenance that will result in the contractor as “non-player”.
Attaching the “non-player” tag can be a road barrier to bid the future project.
In accordance with the circular issued by the ministry, in the case of small failure structures or highways which resulted in every victim, the contractor concerned must make improvements with their own costs.
In addition, 5% of the contract value of a failed or damaged job or a value of 0.5% of all project costs, which is more, will be imposed on the contractor.
In the case of a large failure of structures or highways that resulted in victims, contractors or concession holders will be released from getting jobs up to one year or until completion of work.
Highway authorities will also slap fines.
