Coimbatore: A 23-year-old man was arrested for deceiving a 19-year-old young man of Rs 30,000 by offering to sell his bicycle to him in an online deal.
The race course said S Vikram, a native of Vani Nagar in Darasuram near Kumbakonam in the District of Thanjavur, has contacted Lakshmanakumar, a resident of Duraisamy Nagar in Rakipallayam in the Tirupur district, on July 15 based on advertisements posted by the last one in OLX selling his bicycle.
Both then hit the agreement for Rs 55,000.Lakshmanakumar, said a police officer, asked Vikram to meet him near the statue signal Anna in Coimbatore on July 21 to seal the deal.
“Vikram, along with his friend Santhosh, a resident of Saravanampatti, met him on schedule.

The owner of the bike, however, drove away with his vehicle.
He then turned off his cellphone too,” the officer said.
When Vikram found the same ad on OLX a few days ago, the officer said, he contacted Lakshmanakumar through his employer parthiban and crashed into an agreement.
“Lakshmanakumar asked for parthiban to meet him at the Junction Mills Lakshmi in Coimbatore on Saturday around 9am.
When both spoke, Vikaram and his friends arrested Lakshmanakumar and produced him before the police racing course,” said the officer.
Based on the complaint of Vikram, the police registered a case against Lakshmanakumar below part 420 from the KUHAP night.
