Coimbatore: Tirupur City Police Commission V Vanitha launched a cellular application (e-beat) for effective patrols, in the coming of the police on Wednesday.
“We have identified 629 places and attaching QR code stickers.
Places include ATM centers, train stations, residential areas where more senior citizens live, banks, places of worship, residence of VIP and chains of claiming and cellular prone areas , “Vanitha said.
Previously, the Patta Book System was used to patrol.
This system requires a manual signature by the police and they must visit various places where the Patta book is stored, removes them from patrol tasks at night.
But the e-beat system requires patrol officers to scan QR codes using cellular applications and it will record time and police location.
