Thane: Road Contractors have been fined Rs 10 lakh for failure to maintain the quality of the road correctly, said TMC head Dr.
Vipin Sharma.
Contractors, Indian Bitcon Infrastructure Developers Pvt Ltd, have been awarded the 17-crore RS contract in 2020 to maintain road service from the Ghodbunder to Nitin Company Junction.
Over the past few months, some stretches were extracted to replace the utility line, but these patches had never been correctly fixed.
“This is a rare example of contractors who are punished for bad jobs.
We hope this will function as a prevention for others,” said Engineer Civic Arjun Ahire.
The action was approaching the heel of the Guardian Minister Thane Eknath Shinde’s survey in Thane two weeks ago.
Manoj Badgeri.
