Agartala / Kolkata: TMC Secretary General Abhishek Banerjee arrived at Tripura on Monday to take part in the civilian election campaign, the day after the party’s young man leader, Saayoni Ghosh, was arrested for allegedly disturbing the meeting held by the Head of Minister of BIPLAB.

Previously on that day, a suspicious bag at Agartala Airport had triggered a fear of a bomb, just before the arrival of Banerjee.

Banerjee is scheduled to hold a campaign for party candidates who compete for civil elections, to be held on November 25.
Condencing the “attack” at TMC supporters and activists at the police station here on Sunday, Banerjee accused that the law and order had collapsed the country.

An official at the airport said CCTV recordings had shown that the bag was abandoned at the airport by a passenger who arrived from Kolkata.
The bomb threat assessment committee has declared it as a “non-specific threat” and standard operating procedure.
