Thane: Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), mid-week, issued a notification in line with state guidelines, double vaccination mandates for all staff working at the mall.
Popular malls in Thane said they tend to be affected but they will operate with staff who are fully vaccinated.
However, mall management recognizes restrictions also tends to affect footsteps.
Gurvineet Singh, CEO, Viviana Mall has last week said footsteps at the facility were almost around 10 to 12 percent compared to pre-covid time.
“We opened after a four-month gap and had suffered losses,” he said on the day the mall was allowed to operate in Thane.
It can be noted that the main malls in Thane operate until Wednesday even with little in Mumbai who were closed on Tuesday quoted the inability to pay a double-dose regulation issued by the state.
As a relief, the Thane corporation, who recently directed malls also allowed access to groups that were not charged until the age of 18 only after ensuring evidence of their valid age.
.
Buyers say exceptions are welcome because parents with double vaccination can now access and shop easily at this facility.
