NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress leader in Lok Sabha, Sudip Bandopadhyay, called Upward Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday to remind him of speeding up the 2 Instances of disqualifications of Their party members at the Lower House, on Premise of defection.
Bandopadhyay had formally written into the Speaker before roughly two TMC Lok Sabha MPs — Sunil Mandal and Sisir Adhikari — requesting the disqualification of the membership because both have linked the BJP and also have lobbied to its saffron party during the current state elections.
Lately Mandal, whose disqualification is coming from January 4, 2021, once Bandopadhyay initially composed to Birla concerning the Burdwan-Purba MP, was calling up and composing for TMC leaders to go back to the party fold, so it’s learnt, actually since the May 2 elections consequences if Mamata Banerjee’s party defeated BJP to form government for another term.
Mandal was among those first birds to change camps.
He crossed over to BJP before the meeting polls held April and aggressively campaigned to the saffron party in the nation.
Kanthi MP Sisir Adhikari, turned around to BJP shortly after his son, Suvendu Adhikari, a ministry at Banerjee’s cabinet spanned until the elections and was appointed leader of resistance in the Bengal meeting by BJPafter he conquered the first minister against Nandigram.
Bandopadhyay delivered his correspondence demanding Sisir Adhikari’s disqualification in the House a month.
The two MPs haven’t stepped out of their erstwhile celebration or their Lok Sabha seat, won on a TMC ticket, even prior to joining the BJP.
Although there’s not any such principle that you has to measure his chair prior to joining a different party, propriety maintains the standard is followed closely.
While talking to Birla, Bandopadhyay pointed him out that he had resigned in his assembly seat in Bengal he held as a Congress party MLA, before linking TMC at 1998.
Bandopadhyay told TOI that the Speaker had promised him that he is going to probably be taking up the issue of disqualifications really soon.
Bandopadhyay’s letters into the Speaker have sought disqualification of those TMC members under Article 102(2) of this Constitution, with regard to para 2 (1) (a) of the Tenth Schedule and according to Rule 6 of the Members of Lok Sabha, 1985 (Disqualification of this Planet of Defection).
Now it’s to be observed whether Birla believes the disqualifications shortly, since he didn’t act on a request filed on January 4, even from Mandal until date.
