Panaji: To fight BJP’s efforts to describe the Trinamool Congress (TMC) as anti-Hinduism, TMC functionaries on Wednesday said that the head of West Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee was a loyal Hindu brahmana, and had the trust of the majority community.
Overcoming a press conference, TMC spokesman said that BJP carried out a fake campaign against Banerjee and TMC ahead of the upcoming assembly selection.
Former MLA KILI Kandolkar, who started a press conference by shouting Hindu Shloka, said that BJP was trying to describe Banerjee in “negative light” by calling it pro-Muslims.
He also said that in addition to West Bengal, there were Muslims who settled in Assam as well and the government led by BJP had to overthrow the first Muslim instead of pointing the fingers in TMC.
“Mamata Banerjee is a Brahmin and daughter of a freedom fighters.
In West Bengal, because of Hindu voting, Mamata won more than 50% of the division of voice,” he said.
This is not the first time TMC has highlighted the Banerjee caste and creed.
Banerjee has begged Brahmana Shandilya Gotra during the election of the Bengal Assembly held earlier this year after BJP tried to describe TMC as a pro-Muslim party.
“BJP continues to say that TMC is a Rohingya Muslim party.
BJP needs to learn and find out where Rohingya Muslims.
Most of them are in Assam where BJP ruled.
Let the Assam government ask them to move them all,” Kandolkar said.
