New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday moved notifications for legal resolution in the objection of Rajya Sabha with the government’s procedure to extend the CBI term and the source said.
On Sunday, President of RAM Nath Kovind has signed two procedures announced by the Ministry of Law and Justice which stated that after a two-year period of the Directorate of Law Enforcement (ED) or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) ended, the union government could extend his term of office by years for three consecutive years.
Ordonance changed the Delhi Police Special Establishment Law, which is the parent law for the CBI, and the Central Wative Law, which includes the appointment of the Director Ed.
TMC has aroused objections to the procedure for the extension of the term of office that questioned the government’s gate at the parliamentary winter session almost two more weeks.
On Monday, the party moved two separate legal resolutions for the two laws that had been changed by the government through the procedures for extending the term of office of Ed and CBI.
“Two grumpy procedures extended the requirements of the Director of ED and CBI from 2 to 5 years of winter session #Parlemen began two weeks from now.
Guaranteed, the opposition party will do everything needed to stop India from turning into selected autocracy,” Tweeted TMC Rajya Sabha MP Crane O’Brien.
The source shows that such notifications will be submitted by other opposition parties in run-up time to the parliamentary winter session.
