Chennai: The number of applications this time for the engineering seat of government quota in the state is the highest in five years.
Tamil Nadu (TNEA) technical acceptance committee received 1.74,171 online applications this year for around 1.4 quota quota quota.
This is 33,667 (9%) more than the previous year.
This year 1.38 Lakh candidates uploaded their sheets and certificates to 1.14 lakh students last year.
Experts say a higher score at the Class XII State Board, the low cost for the chair of government quota and a better campus placement can drive the application this year.
Jayaprakash Gandhi’s career consultant said, “The trend shows that interest in basic science courses has fallen and interest in the technique is increasing due to more employment opportunities.” “Because of the pandemic, parents prefer the government’s quota seats to the seat of management quota because the tuition fees are very low,” he added.
“While the cost of the government quota seats is ₹ 55,000 (₹ 55,000 for accredited courses), the cost quota management is ₹ 87,000.
About 20 private colleges get their management quota fees revised up to ₹ 1,2 lakh.
Students are not interested in all technical courses .
“Most students and parents who ask for management quota seats are only interested in computer science engineering or related courses.
Their second choice is information technology.
They are not even interested in electronics and communication which is also a branch of the circuit, “said B Chidambarjanjan, the Principal of SRM Valliamamai Engineering College.” Because the high score given to students under this year’s weight system, students and parents sure will get a seat inside counseling.
We hope more reception in the chair management quota after the release of ranking ranked, “he added.
RM Kishore, Deputy Chairperson of RMK Engineering College, even questions for higher management quota this year.” Apart from the pandemic, college techniques have a good placement season then.
So, students are interested in pursuing techniques.
This reflects the number of applications for technical counseling this year, “he said.
