Chennai: A 22-year-old man who posed as a student and supplied hash oil (marijuana oil) to students in Tiruvallur arrested on Sunday.
The exclusive complaint number in the Tiruvallur district received a tip-off of a five-foot man who tried to sell marijuana to students.
Based on the command SP, Tiruvallur, R V Varun Kumar, a police team from Tirukpolice Tiruvalur station led by Sis Siva and Shakthivel arrested a suspicious man near the Putlur train station.
He identified himself as Adithya, 22 of the Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.
The police who examined the backpack found he had 27 bottles containing hash oil or marijuana oil.
Hash oil comes from cannabis plants, the same active ingredients as other marijuana products.
Oil is packed in 100ml, 50 ml and 10 ml of bottles.
He told the police that he was from Andhra Pradesh every 15 days.
He has supplied hash oil to students in the Chennai district and Tiruvallur.
He dressed like a student carrying books and backpacks to avoid being caught by the police.
“Because the examination had been intensified in the bus and the train, he decided to turn it into oil and sell it.
Even when he was caught he would escape claiming it became a medicinal oil,” said SP Varun Kumar.
“He made a one-liter hash oil in 30 kg of marijuana and sold it with a number of ONE LAKH Hospital,” he added.
The police said this oil was mixed in cigars and smoked.
Some of them slapped this oil on the cake and bread to lift their ‘spirit’.
The items that the police confiscated from the man were worth Rs 3.5 Crore.
