Chennai: May 17 Founder Movement Thirmahurugan Gandhi and Thterthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam Kazhagam (TPDK) K Ramakrishnan is under supervision for more than three years.
They are among 40 Indians, including activists, journalists, judicial members, opposition leaders and party ministers in power in the center, on the first list of leaky pegasus databases.
May 17 Movement, founded in May 2009, is known for its pro-LTTE and pro-EEAM stands.
“I learned that my cellphone number was on the Snoopgate Snoopgate Isaeril spyware list when I got a call from the wire two days ago,” said Thirmaurugan Gandhi told toi.
He added that his call had been under supervision since 2018.
He said he continued to use the same phone and added, “I am not rich like Modi or Amit Shah to often change my cellphone.
If they want to peek at my phone, let them do it.
I don’t Hide anything, “he added.
When he was questioned with a wire if he was ready to give his phone to digital foreign examination, Gandhi said, “I am ready to give my gadget to test Pegasus.” The government spends at least Rs 1 Crore to lurk an individual, he said and wondered how it spent public money to spy on his own citizens.
Ramakrishnan said he was told by the wire that the number was under supervision since 2017 when he visited France to take part in a day martyr which was held to honor the sacrifice of the LTTE members.
