Chennai: This country added 1,630 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday against Monday 1,657.
At least 13 districts reported an increase of up to 6 cases compared to their Monday.
17 deaths took cumulative death to 35,526.
The country issued 1,643 people from the registry, which left 17,231 people still in care for viral infections.
Cases touched 26.60 lakh.
“We ask people to take two vaccine doses on time and follow all Covid protocols to reduce infection.
When we calm more norms, this is the only way to master something,” said Public Health Director Dr.
TS Selvavinayagam.
“The new cluster that we see comes from weddings, reunions, funerals and festivals where the protocol is violated,” he said.
The sharpest increase was reported from the high incident of Thirupathur and Villupuram Regency.
While new cases in Thirupathur rose from 14 on Monday to 20 on Tuesday, Villupuram reported an increase from 15 to 21 during the same time period.
Of the 17 deaths reported on Tuesday, there were six of Chennai, two of coimbatore and each of the other nine districts.
At least 27 districts report zero death.
