Chennai: In the midst of increasing Covid-19 cases in the country because the omicron variant, the Tamil Nadu government has extended the total lock on January 23, Sunday the same as it on January 16.
In the release, the state government said restrictions and relaxation such as the operation of important services imposed on January 16 will be placed on January 23.
Furthermore, the Autorickshaws and CABS aggregators will be allowed to operate from transit facilities such as Chennai Central, Egmore Railway Station and Koyambedu CMBT for the sake of passengers arriving from other cities and cities.
Relaxation includes train stations and terminus buses in the district.
Previously, on January 16 when the government imposed a complete Sunday locking, important services such as milk, ATMs, hospitals, transportation goods, gas stations would be allowed to operate, restaurants were allowed to operate food delivery services from 7am to 10pm, people -People traveling to the airport and train stations are allowed to travel only with their own transportation along with their travel tickets, interpret and intra public transportation are permitted to operate and employees who work from the office are asked to bring a company ID.
